DU BTech Entrance Exam
The Delhi University has more than 80 colleges under its belt and it is better known as DU and the university is ranked as one of the best universities in the world. The university was established in the year 1922 with just three colleges and now it has developed to more than 80 colleges. Different courses are being offered by the DU and doing B. Tech course in DU will be an added advantage for the candidates in getting jobs in top companies.
Delhi University admits students for the B. Tech program on the basis of the marks secured by them in the Delhi Combined Entrance Examination being conducted by the university. But, defense quota candidates and nominated candidates are exempted from the entrance exam. This entrance test is generally conducted by the Delhi University in the month of June.
The candidate applying for the B. Tech course and entrance examination should have got a minimum aggregate of 60% of marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics in the +2 examination.
Pattern of entrance examination:
The entrance examination will be conducted for three hours and the paper will have three subjects with a total of 180 marks (objective type questions). The subjects include physics, chemistry and mathematics and there will be 60 questions from each subject.
The physics paper will have questions from general physics, optics, thermal physics, mechanics, electricity and magnetism and modern physics. The chemistry paper will cover subjects like solutions, nuclear chemistry, chemical kinetics, surface chemistry, electro chemistry, transition elements 3d series, carbohydrates, etc… and mathematics include trigonometry, algebra, vectors, calculus, three dimension geometry and two dimension geometry.
Among the total seats available in the Delhi University, 85% is reserved for candidates from Delhi and 15% is reserved for other state candidates and the university has also reserved 22.5% of seats for SC/ST candidates.
