BTech Distance Education

Some students might have been forced to continue with jobs immediately after completion of their diploma course or +2 examinations due to family situation. To help these students to get their dream B. tech graduation, some of the popular universities in India offer B. Tech degree course through distance education program. The admission procedure and eligibility for joining the B. tech distance education program in different universities are given below:

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU):

IGNOU offers B. Tech in Civil, mechanical, aero space, airport infrastructure engineering, aircraft manufacturing and maintenance engineering. B. Tech civil construction management (BTCM) course is offered by the university and the course extends for a period of four years. The eligibility criteria for joining this course is that the candidate should have completed three years diploma course in Civil/electrical/mechanical/computer/chemical/architecture engineering from a reputed polytechnic college and he should also be employed/self-employed in any of these fields. On successful completion of two years of the BTCM course, the students will be awarded the Advanced Diploma in Construction Management (ADCM) and if the student wishes to discontinue the B. Tech course after getting ADCM, he can discontinue or he can even continue the B. Tech course.

B. Tech Civil Water Resources Engineering (BTWRE) is another degree conferred by IGNOU and the eligibility criteria and course duration for this course is the same as BTCM. In this course also the student will be awarded Advanced Diploma in Water Resource Engineering on successful completion of two years. For more information on other branches under B. SRM University:

SRM University’s Directorate of Distance education has also introduced four years B. Tech degree courses in branches like civil/electrical and electronics/Mechanical/information technology/ECE/Computer science and engineering and electronics and Instrumentation. The eligibility for admission to the course is an aggregate of 50% of marks in physics, mathematics and chemistry in the 10+2 level and the diploma holders can also get admission for the B.     Sir, I want to know that can I also eligible for BTECH in MECHANICAL after passed out HIGHER SECONDARY in science stream with 43% and after that I also completed DIPLOMA in MECHANICAL from DON BOSCO TECHNICAL INSTITUTE from park circus but lt is not a GOVT. RECOGNIZED INSTITUTE and I am also working in a private sector AS a TECHNICAL ENGINEER. Please suggest
